STANDING ORDER

To

All Extension Officers,

Subject: The construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 13 of 1994), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a village carrying on the construction of a building in a village shall make an application in Form 1 to the Block Development Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Extension Officer shall ensure that fair is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala.
