STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Development Officers,

Subject: The working of a brick kiln in a village by owners of a brick kiln in a village under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brick kiln in a village by owners of a brick kiln in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a brick kiln in a village carrying on the working of a brick kiln in a village shall make an application in Form 3 to the Director of Panchayats within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Village Development Officer shall ensure that fair is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Panchayats within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal.
