STANDING ORDER

To

All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,

Subject: Fishing in a village tank by lessees of a village fishery under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Rajasthan Act 13 of 1994), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a village tank by lessees of a village fishery.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of a village fishery carrying on fishing in a village tank shall make an application in Form 5 to the Gram Sabha within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Sabha within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Rajasthan.
