To
All Energy Auditors,
Subject: The retail sale of petroleum products by retail outlet dealers under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006 (19 of 2006), the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the retail sale of petroleum products by retail outlet dealers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every retail outlet dealer carrying on the retail sale of petroleum products shall make an application in Form VI to the Central Commission within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the retail sale of petroleum products is undertaken, and the Central Commission shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
