STANDING ORDER
To
All Chiefs Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad,
Subject: The leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank.
2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of a village tank carrying on the leasing of a village tank shall make an application in Form 5 to the Gram Sabha within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad shall ensure that assessment register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Sabha within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
