STANDING ORDER

To

All Cantonment Executive Officers,

Subject: The execution of defence works by contractors for defence works under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 (Maharashtra Act 22 of 1951), the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of defence works by contractors for defence works.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for defence works carrying on the execution of defence works shall make an application in Form F to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Cantonment Executive Officer shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
