STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 1 to the State Government within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Odisha.
