STANDING ORDER

To

All Petroleum Inspectors,

Subject: The drawal of electricity under open access by open access consumers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the drawal of electricity under open access by open access consumers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every open access consumer carrying on the drawal of electricity under open access shall make an application in Form V to the State Commission within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Petroleum Inspector shall ensure that supply line is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Commission within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Gujarat.
