STANDING ORDER

To

All Controllers of Accounts,

Subject: The conduct of Government business by a bank by bank conducting Government businesses under the Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management Act, 2005 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 2005), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conduct of Government business by a bank by bank conducting Government businesses.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bank conducting Government business carrying on the conduct of Government business by a bank shall make an application in Form GFR 12-A to the Controller General of Accounts within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Controller of Accounts shall ensure that account is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Controller General of Accounts within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
