STANDING ORDER

To

All Sampling Officers,

Subject: The manufacture of packaged drinking water by manufacturers of packaged drinking water under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977 (Maharashtra Act 9 of 1977), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of packaged drinking water by manufacturers of packaged drinking water.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of packaged drinking water carrying on the manufacture of packaged drinking water shall make an application in Form D to the Registering Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of three thousand rupees.

3. The Sampling Officer shall ensure that label is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registering Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra.
