STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Engineers,

Subject: The extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall make an application in Form C to the Board within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Engineer shall ensure that reservoir is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Rajasthan.
