STANDING ORDER

To

All Canal Officers,

Subject: The extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Labour Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall make an application in Form E to the Irrigation Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Canal Officer shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Irrigation Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Rajasthan.
