STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Ports Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bar licensee carrying on the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises shall make an application in Form A to the Collector within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Punjab.
