STANDING ORDER
To
All Revenue Inspectors,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 3 to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal.
