STANDING ORDER

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: The operation of a lift irrigation scheme by owners of a lift irrigation scheme under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the Housing Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a lift irrigation scheme by owners of a lift irrigation scheme.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lift irrigation scheme carrying on the operation of a lift irrigation scheme shall make an application in Form F to the Canal Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that register of users is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Canal Officer within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Kerala.
