STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1964), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
