STANDING ORDER
To
All Surveyors,
Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.
2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 3 to the Tahsildar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Surveyor shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
