STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 (Maharashtra Act 67 of 1948), the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 3 to the Tahsildar within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra.
