STANDING ORDER
To
All Naib Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.
2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 3 to the Land Tribunal within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of West Bengal.
