STANDING ORDER

To

All Surveyors,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Tourism Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 8 to the Land Tribunal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Surveyor shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Bihar.
