STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspecting Officers,

Subject: The running of a private hostel by operators of a hostel for tenants under the Karnataka Slum Areas (Improvement and Clearance) Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Slum Areas (Improvement and Clearance) Act, 1973 (Karnataka Act 33 of 1973), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a private hostel by operators of a hostel for tenants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a hostel for tenants carrying on the running of a private hostel shall make an application in Form H to the Adjudicating Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Inspecting Officer shall ensure that register of projects is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Adjudicating Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
