OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a saw mill carrying on the running of a saw mill shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Tamil Nadu within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a saw mill is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
