STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors,

Subject: The working of a plantation by owners of a plantation under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962 (Karnataka Act 8 of 1962), the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a plantation by owners of a plantation.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a plantation carrying on the working of a plantation shall make an application in Form I to the Labour Commissioner within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Inspector shall ensure that attendance card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Labour Commissioner within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
