STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Labour Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 14 to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Punjab.
