OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The transmission of programmes by cable by cable operators under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the transmission of programmes by cable by cable operators is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cable operator carrying on the transmission of programmes by cable shall make an application in Form II to the Board of Film Certification within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the transmission of programmes by cable is undertaken, and the Board of Film Certification shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
