OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Puducherry on the manner in which the holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land is to be regulated under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land assessed to revenue shall make an application in Form 8 to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of land assessed to revenue is undertaken, and the Land Tribunal shall dispose of it within one hundred and eighty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Puducherry.
