STANDING ORDER

To

All Building Inspectors,

Subject: The display of advertisements by owners of a hoarding under the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 20 of 1994), the Urban Development Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the display of advertisements by owners of a hoarding.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a hoarding carrying on the display of advertisements shall make an application in Form A to the Commissioner within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Building Inspector shall ensure that sanitary certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Kerala.
