OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Punjab on the manner in which the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land is to be regulated under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 2 to the Collector within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of Government land on lease is undertaken, and the Collector shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Punjab.
