OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The distribution of films by distributors of films under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the distribution of films by distributors of films is to be regulated under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every distributor of films carrying on the distribution of films shall make an application in Form IV to the Board of Film Certification within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the distribution of films is undertaken, and the Board of Film Certification shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka.
