OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of an open shelter by open shelters under the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of an open shelter by open shelters is to be regulated under the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993.

2. The matter has been examined. Every open shelter carrying on the running of an open shelter shall make an application in Form I to the Juvenile Justice Board within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of an open shelter is undertaken, and the Juvenile Justice Board shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
