OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The manufacture of electricity meters by meter manufacturers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the manufacture of electricity meters by meter manufacturers is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every meter manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of electricity meters shall make an application in Form VIII to the Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the manufacture of electricity meters is undertaken, and the Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat.
