OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The ownership of a building by owners of a building under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the ownership of a building by owners of a building is to be regulated under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building carrying on the ownership of a building shall make an application in Form A to the Municipal Council within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the ownership of a building is undertaken, and the Municipal Council shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
