OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The supply of electricity by licensees under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the supply of electricity by licensees is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee carrying on the supply of electricity shall make an application in Form II to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the supply of electricity is undertaken, and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Gujarat.
