STANDING ORDER

To

All Defence Estates Officers,

Subject: The construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2002), the Home Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of land within a cantonment carrying on the construction of buildings in a cantonment shall make an application in Form E to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within three days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Defence Estates Officer shall ensure that pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within three days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Karnataka.
