STANDING ORDER
To
All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,
Subject: The keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market.
2. The matter has been examined. Every shopkeeper in a village market carrying on the keeping of a shop in a village market shall make an application in Form 6 to the District Collector within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that fair is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Collector within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
