STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Motor Vehicles,

Subject: The use of a transport vehicle by permit holders under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 35 of 1957), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of a transport vehicle by permit holders.

2. The matter has been examined. Every permit holder carrying on the use of a transport vehicle shall make an application in Form 29 to the Transport Commissioner within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Inspector of Motor Vehicles shall ensure that toll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Transport Commissioner within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
