STANDING ORDER

To

All Harbour Masters,

Subject: The loading and unloading of ships by stevedores under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the loading and unloading of ships by stevedores.

2. The matter has been examined. Every stevedore carrying on the loading and unloading of ships shall make an application in Form 5 to the Registrar of Ships within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Harbour Master shall ensure that vessel is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Ships within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Gujarat.
