STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Development Officers,

Subject: The keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound under the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962 (Maharashtra Act 5 of 1962), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a cattle pound carrying on the keeping of a cattle pound shall make an application in Form 6 to the Zila Parishad within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Village Development Officer shall ensure that register of buildings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Zila Parishad within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Maharashtra.
