OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form 2 to the Director of Panchayats within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a ferry is undertaken, and the Director of Panchayats shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
