OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form A to the Tribunal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a ferry is undertaken, and the Tribunal shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
