OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947.

2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of a Panchayat tax carrying on the collection of Panchayat taxes shall make an application in Form 8 to the Zila Parishad within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the collection of Panchayat taxes is undertaken, and the Zila Parishad shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
