STANDING ORDER

All Conservation Assistants,

Subject: The conduct of tours by tour operators under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1966), the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conduct of tours by tour operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tour operator carrying on the conduct of tours shall make an application in Form V to the Competent Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Conservation Assistant shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
