STANDING ORDER

To

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: The treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act 25 of 2011), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall make an application in Form D to the Ground Water Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Ground Water Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Karnataka.
