STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Directors,

Subject: Home-based work for wages by home-based workers under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1969), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to home-based work for wages by home-based workers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every home-based worker carrying on home-based work for wages shall make an application in Form 12 to the Medical Benefit Council within ten days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Deputy Director shall ensure that identity card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Medical Benefit Council within ten days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
