STANDING ORDER

To

All Shipping Masters,

Subject: The working of a port by port authorities under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Law Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a port by port authorities.

2. The matter has been examined. Every port authority carrying on the working of a port shall make an application in Form 5 to the Director-General within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Shipping Master shall ensure that berth is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director-General within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Gujarat.
