STANDING ORDER

To

All District Education Officers,

Subject: The publication of textbooks by publishers of textbooks under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009 (Gujarat Act 8 of 2009), the Water Resources Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the publication of textbooks by publishers of textbooks.

2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of textbooks carrying on the publication of textbooks shall make an application in Form A to the Regulatory Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The District Education Officer shall ensure that fee receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Regulatory Authority within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Gujarat.
