OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The provision of security services in a cantonment by operators of a private security service in a cantonment under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Ports Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the provision of security services in a cantonment by operators of a private security service in a cantonment is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a private security service in a cantonment carrying on the provision of security services in a cantonment shall make an application in Form F to the Director-General within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of security services in a cantonment is undertaken, and the Director-General shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
