CIRCULAR
To
All Wireless Monitoring Officers,
Subject: The provision of satellite communication services by satellite communication operators under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of satellite communication services by satellite communication operators.
2. The matter has been examined. Every satellite communication operator carrying on the provision of satellite communication services shall make an application in Form F to the Digital Communications Commission within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of satellite communication services is undertaken, and the Digital Communications Commission shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
