STANDING ORDER

To

All Press Registrars,

Subject: The provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services by direct-to-home operators under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953 (Maharashtra Act 11 of 1953), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services by direct-to-home operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every direct-to-home operator carrying on the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services shall make an application in Form IV to the Appellate Tribunal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Press Registrar shall ensure that broadcast licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Appellate Tribunal within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra.
