STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The transport of excisable articles by transporters under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Information Technology Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of excisable articles by transporters.

2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter carrying on the transport of excisable articles shall make an application in Form F to the Licensing Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that consignment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Goa.
